Why use the Segway Patroller?
The Segway really resonates within the security community. The reason for this is pretty simple, in most cases security personnel has to walk a route in which they patrol. Developing a stronger relationship with the community.
One agenda that we hear time and time again from police department says that they are interested in developing a stronger relationship with the community that they serve. The feedback that we have received continually is that the Segway has a way about it that it enables citizens to feel more comfortable around officers who patrol on a Segway PT.

We have been working with the Phoenix fire department for years. Feedback that we have consistently receipt from them is that the Segway PT makes it easier for them to maintain a presence during large events where people have an issue with the heat or dehydration or where immediate assistance is typically required from the fire department.

Game changer for shopping malls.
We have been servicing all of the shopping malls in the valley almost 13 years. The security companies that use the Segway PT don’t know how they could live without it. If they need to bring a Segway PT into our shop to get the tires changed they always have a sense of urgency to get the machine back because they are employees will have to walk the security route in the shopping mall until they get the Segway PT back. The 24 mile range on the commuter version of the patroller enables personnel to travel longer distances then they can even accomplish in one shift.
Use a labeling system.
We recommend that if you are using the Segway PT for a commercial purposes such as security or employee transportation on grounds, that you create a labeling system for your machines. We recommend that you label each key that corresponds with its individual machine so the keys don’t get mixed up. It’s easy to get the keys mixed up if you have more than three machines in your fleet.
How often do they need to be repaired?
The quick answer to that is not often. We do find though, that companies that are using the Segway PT for commercial purposes where down the tread quicker because they’re running for hours and hours every day. We recommend getting the tread changed when the tires start getting bald. There are two ways to go about changing the tread: you can bring it into our service center and we can do it for you; we will also replace the tube. Or you can purchase a new tire kit that is already mounted on the rim.
